Top Facilities works in partnership with production teams to ensure that our waste management procedures operate alongside the overall waste strategy for each project.
Our objective is to maintain a clean, safe and environmentally responsible working environment by ensuring that waste is handled, separated and disposed of correctly, with a focus on reducing landfill and increasing recycling wherever possible.
Types of Waste Managed On Set
The typical waste streams generated during production may include:
- Food waste – leftovers from catering and crew facilities
- Textiles – damaged or unwanted clothing and fabric materials
- Dry mixed recycling – cardboard, paper, plastics and metal packaging such as cans
- Wood waste – set materials, props and timber offcuts
- Sanitary waste – washroom and welfare facility waste
- General waste – non-recyclable materials
On-Set Waste Management
- Waste is collected daily to maintain a clean, safe and hygienic working environment.
- Clearly labelled bins are provided for cast and crew to support correct waste separation.
- General waste is placed into the designated waste skips provided by production.
- Recyclable materials are placed into the appropriate recycling containers supplied on site and managed in coordination with the production waste contractor.
Sanitary Waste Disposal
Sanitary waste is managed directly by Top Facilities (North) Ltd. Collections are carried out on a scheduled basis using appropriate equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
All sanitary waste is transported and disposed of in accordance with current environmental regulations and at licensed treatment facilities, in line with relevant environmental authority guidelines.
